Intellectica is recruiting an experienced and dynamic Payroll Officer on behalf of a leading consumer goods company. Based in Athens, Greece and reporting directly to the company’s Chief Financial Officer, the ideal candidate shall be a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a profound understanding of payroll systems and regulations. The candidate will be responsible for administering employee compensation and employment-related issues, ensuring accurate and smooth payroll operations, and optimizing the company’s payroll functions to maintain compliance and efficiency.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Collect and review daily and weekly worksheets for payroll processing
- Accurately calculate allowances, benefits, bonuses, and deductions
- Prepare and process employees’ compensation at the end of each month using payroll software (Epsilon Net)
- Schedule payments and distribute payment statements to employees
- Prepare and report on payroll expenses, including actual, estimate, and budget figures, for management review
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding wages and tax withholdings
- Enter new employee data into the company’s ERP system accurately and promptly
- Interact with employees to handle payroll queries, resolve discrepancies, and provide information on compensation, benefits, taxes, and insurance deductions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation
- Stay informed about changes in payroll rules and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a Higher or Technical Educational Institute in Accounting, Business Administration, or a relevant field
- At least 5 years experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Executive, or a similar capacity in an accounting, auditing, or industrial firm
- Exposure to accounting/payroll software (Ergani, EPSILON Net) is required, ensuring efficient payroll processing; exposure to ERP & HRIS systems is considered a plus
- In-depth understanding of labor legislation and payroll regulations
- Exposure to MS Office
- Fluent in Greek
