Intellectica is seeking an experienced Operations Director on behalf of a leading Occupational Health and Safety service provider in Greece. This key role, based in Athens, Attiki, involves overseeing the operations of the organization’s four core departments, driving the execution of corporate strategy, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional services. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Operations Director will lead a team of four direct reports and manage a total workforce of 45 employees.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Partnering with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and refine the business strategy, aligning efforts to promote the company’s vision and long-term goals
- Supervising all activities and deliverables within the Operations Division, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to high standards
- Establishing clear, measurable objectives for growth, performance, and customer service excellence, driving continuous improvement
- Monitoring team productivity, prioritizing the well-being of associates, and ensuring schedules are met efficiently and effectively
- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with key customers, partners, and other stakeholders, acting as a primary point of contact for operational matters
- Leading the introduction, training, and mentoring of management team members; developing and implementing tailored training plans to enhance their capabilities
- Defining the roles and responsibilities of functional departments and creating service-level agreements to streamline interaction with other divisions
- Overseeing the technical and economic aspects of service delivery, from initial sale through to final implementation, ensuring efficiency and profitability
- Keeping up to date with the latest occupational health and safety regulations and ensuring the organization is compliant with all local, state, and national laws
- Undertaking additional tasks and responsibilities as required to meet the dynamic needs of the organization
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- A degree in Engineering or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or an MBA will be considered a valuable asset
- Relevant certifications in Occupational Health and Safety methodologies and practices
- In-depth understanding of current health and safety legislation, industry standards, and best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in an Occupational Health and Safety Executive role, preferably within an industrial setting
- Proven experience in an operations management or similar role, with a strong focus on improving operational efficiency and service delivery
- Previous experience in a similar company or industry is highly desirable
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Fluent in both English and Greek
