Intellectica is recruiting an ambitious and dynamic Group Finance Manager on behalf of a Family-owned import & export business. Based in Athens, Greece, the Group Finance Manager will work closely with the Managing Director to oversee financial and operational decision-making for all group entities. This role is instrumental in ensuring financial health, optimizing business operations, and driving strategic initiatives. The Group Finance Manager will manage areas such as product pricing, purchases, cash flow, intra-group transactions, budgeting, and reporting.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing and overseeing financial operations and decisions across group entities in collaboration with the Managing Director
- Leading product pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability
- Optimizing purchases and efficiently managing days receivable, inventory levels, and days payable to enhance cashflow
- Developing and managing group-wide budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives and strategic goals
- Monitoring and managing intra-group transactions, ensuring compliance, accuracy and operational efficiency
- Overseeing cash flow across entities to maintain liquidity and operational stability
- Managing profit and loss statements, ensuring alignment with financial goals
- Preparing and delivering timely, detailed financial reports, offering actionable insights and highlighting variances
- Collaborating with teams across entities to streamline financial operations and implement best practices
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes for all group companies, ensuring VAT and other obligations are met for each entity
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining robust financial control procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director on financial and operational matters
- Any other task may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance or a related field; Master’s degree is highly desired
- 7+ years of experience in financial management, with exposure to a family business setting
- Proven experience in cash flow management, budgeting and reporting
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); familiarity with IT systems is a plus
- Fluency in Greek and English (both written and verbal)
