Intellectica is recruiting a Social Media Editor on behalf of its client, a fast-paced and forward-thinking media organization operating at the heart of the digital content ecosystem. The company is committed to informing and engaging B2C audiences through dynamic, multi-channel storytelling and compelling journalism. With a culture rooted in creativity, speed, and digital innovation, the organization is expanding its content reach and seeking a talented Social Media Editor to join its on-site team.
This role will play a key part in producing, publishing, and optimizing digital content across all social media channels for the company’s portfolio of news websites. Reporting to the Digital Business Unit Director, the Social Media Editor will support the marketing and multimedia teams in enhancing the company’s digital presence and promoting brand-aligned content.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing day-to-day publishing and engagement across all major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
- Editing visual and video assets using tools such as Canva, Kapwing, CapCut, and other digital production platforms
- Collaborating with editorial teams to support the production and timely promotion of digital content
- Creating targeted social media campaigns for the company’s suite of news websites, tailored to diverse B2C audiences
- Monitoring real-time analytics and optimizing posts based on engagement, audience behavior, and platform trends
- Ensuring content is aligned with current trends, SEO best practices, and audience behavior on each platform
- Maintaining consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all digital touchpoints
- Assisting with content ideas and experimenting with platform features and trends
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications are considered a plus
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a social media editor or newsroom journalist with a digital-first mindset, ideally within a newsroom, publishing, or media-driven environment
- Proficiency in video editing and design tools such as Canva, Kapwing, CapCut, and TikTok Studio
- Hands-on experience with Meta Business Suite and other social media publishing or analytics platforms
- Familiarity with SEO principles and their integration in content promotion and discovery
- Portfolio showcasing social media content and visual storytelling
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, content-rich environments with tight deadlines
- Fluency in Greek and proficiency in English, both written and spoken
