Intellectica is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Network Engineer on behalf of a leading European healthcare provider. Based in Attiki, Greece and reporting directly to the Head of Infrastructure, the successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the organization’s Local and Wide Area Network environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and security across all systems. This role involves close collaboration with on-site IT support teams across multiple clinics and facilities, contributing to a seamless and resilient network experience.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure high availability and business continuity across all clinical and corporate locations
- Configure and manage network devices and services including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, QoS, and SDWAN
- Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and proactively address system resource utilization
- Apply firmware updates, security patches, and system upgrades in line with scheduled maintenance plans
- Investigate and resolve network faults, providing Level-2/3 support and escalation when needed
- Collaborate with on-site IT support teams to ensure seamless issue resolution and infrastructure alignment
- Enforce network security policies and manage access controls across all environments
- Contribute to network architecture planning and documentation for future expansion
- Research and recommend hardware/software solutions for network enhancement projects
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Network and Security certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP and Fortinet NSE4–NSE7 are highly desirable
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in routing and switching, with strong knowledge of Enterprise LAN/WAN and Data Center technologies
- Proven hands-on experience with IP routing, including TCP/IP and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and SD-WAN
- Practical experience with Cisco Switching technologies, including Cisco 2960, Cisco 9000 series, and Cisco Nexus platforms
- Experience with network management and monitoring tools
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN and VoIP network architecture design will be considered an asset
- Hands-on experience with vendor solutions, particularly FortiGate, Cisco, and HP
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English
