Intellectica is recruiting a meticulous Academy Director on behalf of its Client, a leading European Healthcare Group, headquartered in Greece with expanding operations across the wider Balkans, Cyprus and Egypt. As part of its strategic growth, the Group is establishing a new Medical Academy, designed to advance medical education, professional training, and cross-border collaboration across Europe and the Middle East. Reporting directly to the Group’s Executive Leadership, this newly created role combines strategic academic direction with hands-on program development and delivery, offering a unique opportunity to shape the foundation of an international health education institution.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Design and implement the academic and training strategy of the new Medical Academy
- Develop and coordinate medical education programs for healthcare professionals, in collaboration with physicians and academic trainers
- Represent the organization in European academic networks and EU-funded programs (Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, EU4Health)
- Build partnerships with universities, hospitals, and medical associations across Europe, the Balkans, and the Middle East
- Supervise a network of trainers and medical professionals, ensuring alignment with European academic and clinical standards
- Travel regularly to Cyprus, Egypt, and other regional locations to lead and oversee on-site training activities
- Oversee academic governance, certification frameworks, and quality assurance processes
- Manage reporting, budgeting, and project submissions related to European training and education programs
- Represent the Academy at conferences, workshops, and institutional collaborations
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- PhD or MPhil in a health-related, biomedical, or education field, preferably from a recognized institution
- Proven experience in academic program management, EU-funded projects, or international medical education
- Strong understanding of European education, research, and training frameworks (Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, EU4Health)
- Experience leading cross-functional or multicultural academic initiatives
- Excellent command of Greek and English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently between Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, and other regional sites
