Intellectica is recruiting a detail-oriented Kitchen Designer on behalf of its client, a well-established and rapidly growing organization active in the import, development, and distribution of professional and household equipment solutions for the HORECA and wider professional market. Based in Athens, Greece, the role reports directly to the Commercial Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing fully functional professional kitchens, ensuring optimal workflows, accurate equipment specification, and seamless collaboration with internal teams and installation technicians, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of delivered projects.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting the initial discovery phase with clients by gathering requirements, analyzing menu types, cuisine concepts, and production needs to define the strategic design approach
  • Developing comprehensive kitchen layouts, from conceptual drafts to detailed technical drawings, ensuring alignment with workflow efficiency, space utilization, and operational best practices
  • Presenting design proposals to clients, explaining workflow logic, equipment choices, and zoning decisions, and helping guide them toward optimal, cost‑effective solutions
  • Producing accurate, professional‑grade 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings, including zoning plans, layout schematics, equipment placement maps, and integration of specialized kitchen systems
  • Preparing detailed MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) documentation, delivering clear and actionable technical guidance to ensure seamless coordination with engineering and installation teams
  • Working closely with the production department to validate technical feasibility, ensure precise execution of custom stainless‑steel components, and maintain consistency between design intent and final deliverables
  • Collaborating with the designer to ensure full alignment across benching systems, machinery, and supplementary technical documentation
  • Partnering with installation technicians, conducting regular on‑site visits, assessing real project conditions, and troubleshooting design‑related challenges as installations progress
  • Ensuring that all designs comply with hygiene and safety standards, industry regulations, and project deadlines
  • Any other task that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Drafting, Industrial Design, or a related field
  • Previous experience of commercial kitchen design, food service equipment, or similar technical environments
  • Excellent command of AutoCAD 2D & 3D, with the ability to produce accurate technical plans
  • Solid understanding of operational workflows in professional kitchens (preparation, cooking, storage, washing, receiving)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Willingness to conduct site visits as part of project execution
  • Fluency in both Greek and English
