Intellectica is recruiting a dynamic Training Academy Director to lead the technical training subsidiary of a prominent energy-sector company listed on the Athens Stock Exchange (ATHEX). The Training Centre specializes in delivering technical & theoretical education, including practical on-the-job training for technicians and electricians within the Group. Based in Athens, Greece and reporting directly to the
Group’s C-Level Executives, the successful candidate will oversee the Centre’s operations, while working closely with experienced trainers and key stakeholders to meet the organization’s growing training needs.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the Training Centre, with full accountability for budgeting and P&L performance, while implementing strategies to optimize services
- Managing and coordinating the delivery of technical training programs, focusing on academic and practical on-site education for transmission line technicians and substation electricians
- Collaborating with trainers and technical experts to refine and enhance training materials and methods
- Building and sustaining partnerships with universities, research institutions, and professional organizations
- Working closely with internal divisions, such as HR, to ensure training initiatives align with workforce development goals
- Leading and guiding a team of trainers, including senior engineers and technicians, providing guidance to enhance their effectiveness and maintain high training standards
- Mentoring and coaching trainees to support their professional development
- Analyzing participant and trainer feedback to continuously improve the quality and impact of training programs
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; an MBA or certifications in Human Resource Management or Coaching are considered a strong advantage
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including roles in education, training, or learning and development
- Proven track record in senior leadership roles with P&L responsibility, ideally in the energy, construction, or technology sectors
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing technical training programs, particularly those involving practical and on-the-job learning components
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of corporate operations and workforce development
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Fluent in English and Greek (both written and verbal)
