Intellectica is recruiting an experienced Distribution Manager on behalf of a leading Supply Chain and Logistics company. Based in Aspropyrgos, Attica and reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all transport and distribution operations. This role involves close collaboration with the Routing, Last Mile and Warehousing departments, as well as external partners, to ensure timely deliveries, cost-effectiveness, and high customer satisfaction.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

Network and Fleet Management:

  • Develop and optimize the national transport and distribution network
  • Supervise and manage the Last Mile department, monitoring delivery status and confirming order deliveries
  • Expand the company’s fleet by evaluating and managing relationships with potential new partners

Daily Operations Management:

  • Monitor routing performance, addressing and resolving issues or delays to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Set distribution targets and manage departmental operations to achieve them
  • Monitor and optimize transportation operations based on cost and time considerations
  • Reconcile ad hoc distribution expenses

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Track departmental KPIs, identify performance gaps, and plan corrective actions
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and local and national transportation regulations

Staff Management:

  • Foster a cooperative and productive work environment amongst employees of the department,
  • Plan and approve departmental employees’ leave
  • Any other work that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related fields; MSc in Supply Chain Management will be considered a strong plus
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a Distribution/Operations role within the transportation or logistics sector
  • Effective cost management skills
  • Familiarity with national transportation regulations, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of route planning software and technologies is considered a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluent in Greek and excellent knowledge of English
