Intellectica is recruiting a strategic and hands-on Finance & Accounting Manager on behalf of a leader in international transportation and logistics solutions, specializing in efficient and reliable connections across global markets. The role is based in Aspropyrgos, Greece, and reports directly to the CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial planning and analysis, overseeing credit control, and ensuring accurate accounting supervision in collaboration with external partners, contributing to the company’s continued growth and operational excellence.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for the company’s financial and accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives

Finance & Strategic Planning

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support informed decision-making and sustainable growth
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital, ensuring optimal financial health and risk management
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, KPIs, and management dashboards for the CEO, providing actionable insights
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure favourable terms and maintain strong partnerships

Accounting Oversight & Compliance

  • Supervise and validate accounting records and financial statements prepared by external partners
  • Ensure compliance with Greek GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory requirements in collaboration with external accountants
  • Review payroll and invoicing processes for accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinate with external auditors to prepare, support, and complete the annual financial and tax audit

Credit Control & Collections

  • Oversee credit control policies and procedures to minimise overdue balances and financial risk
  • Ensure timely collections from customers, proactively addressing delays and negotiating payment plans when necessary
  • Monitor customer credit limits and assess financial exposure to safeguard company interests

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Manage and mentor the internal finance & accounting team (2 members)
  • Evaluate and enhance financial processes, systems, and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Support contract reviews and financial risk assessments for key business agreements
  • Any other task that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CFA, CPA) or a master’s degree in Accounting & Finance is considered a plus
  • At least 10 years of experience in financial management and accounting, preferably within a preferably in SME environments
  • Strong knowledge of Greek GAAP and tax regulations
  • Familiarity with ERP Software (preferably Softone, Epsilonnet) is highly valued
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly in Excel
  • Familiarity with Payroll Software (preferably Epsilonnet)
  • Fluency in Greek and English
