Intellectica is recruiting a seasoned Financial Controller on behalf of its client, a dynamic and fast-growing provider of integrated telecommunications and energy solutions. With a long-standing strategic partnership with leading providers in telecommunications and energy, the company delivers tailored connectivity and electricity services to a diverse portfolio of retail and business clients. Based in Athens, Greece, this role offers the opportunity to work directly with the Managing Director and the group’s President, playing a key role in shaping financial strategy and driving operational excellence across the organization.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Act as a trusted financial partner to the Managing Director, working closely to monitor business performance and support strategic decision-making
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership, including the President, to guide operational and investment decisions
- Lead the budgeting process across departments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery of accurate forecasts
- Monitor budget execution and analyze variances, preparing detailed reports and dashboards for management
- Oversee financial reporting activities, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with internal standards
- Manage cash flow planning and liquidity monitoring to support operational needs and strategic initiatives
- Supervise credit control processes, collaborating with the collections team to ensure timely receivables and risk mitigation
- Collaborate with the in-house accounting team (5 members) to ensure accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, and compliance
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
- Support the transition from Atlantis ERP to SoftOne, in collaboration with the in-house IT and accounting teams
- Evaluate and enhance existing financial processes, controls, and reporting tools to improve efficiency and responsiveness
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; MSc degree in Finance, MBA, or relevant qualifications (ACCA, CFA, CPA) are preferred
- At least 8 years of experience in financial controlling or related roles
- Experience within the construction sector or a related industry will be considered a strong advantage
- Proven experience working in financial reporting and budgeting processes
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Exposure to credit control and collections processes
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
- Fluency in Greek and English (both written and verbal)
