Intellectica is recruiting a Frontend Developer on behalf of its client, a digital solutions company in the media-tech, publishing, and platform services space. Based in Athens, Attiki, Greece and reporting directly to the Technical Project Manager, the successful candidate will join a fast-paced engineering team, contributing to the development of scalable WordPress-based platforms, custom web applications, and integrated digital solutions.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Interpret project briefs to develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and themes aligned with user needs
- Evaluate feature requests and implement functional enhancements for large-scale websites
- Write clean, efficient code by analysing complex technical problems and identifying optimal solutions
- Collaborate with senior developers to resolve architectural challenges and integrate best practices
- Debug and troubleshoot issues by diagnosing root causes and implementing effective fixes
- Analyse the full technology stack to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions that meet performance benchmarks
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
- 2-5 years of professional web development experience
- Proficiency in PHP and solid experience with WordPress plugin and theme development
- Knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3; TypeScript experience is desirable
- Familiarity with a modern JavaScript framewors
- Good understanding of MySQL and relational database design
- Familiarity with Git for version control
- Fluency in Greek and proficiency in English, both written and spoken
