Intellectica is recruiting a Head of SEO on behalf of its client, a fast-scaling technology and digital solutions company serving high-profile clients in the media sector. With a long-term strategic vision and strong leadership at the helm, the company is building a team of expert technologists and digital specialists to support media organisations in transforming their audience engagement, search visibility, and content performance through cutting-edge technology and data-driven marketing.

As part of its foundational team, the company is now hiring a Head of SEO to lead organic search strategy and execution for media clients – particularly digital news publishers and content-driven platforms. This role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and will have a major impact on performance, visibility, and growth across multiple client properties.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive SEO strategies for media and publishing clients with high content volumes and audience demands
  • Build scalable SEO workflows and technical frameworks to support multiple content-heavy properties across various media verticals
  • Partner with editorial, development, product, and analytics teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across content creation, page templates, and CMS functionalities
  • Conduct in-depth technical audits and define improvements to site structure, internal linking, page speed, and indexability
  • Guide the implementation of structured data, schema markup, and media-specific enhancements like AMP and Google Discover optimization
  • Drive ongoing keyword research, content opportunity analysis, and SERP trend monitoring to fuel organic growth
  • Set up and lead regular performance reporting, analytics tracking, and benchmarking across domains and competitors
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing SEO team as the business grows, including oversight of agencies or partners
  • Stay at the forefront of algorithm changes and SEO innovations specific to media and news publishing environments
  • Any other task that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management & Information Technology, Marketing or a related field
  • Master’s degree (MBA, Management & Information Technology, or a related field) is highly preferred
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in SEO, including leadership roles supporting high-traffic media, publishing, or content-first websites.
  • Expertise in news SEO, Google News optimization, and discoverability in fast-moving content ecosystems.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Botify, and Google Search Console.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within complex CMS platforms and collaborate on technical SEO implementation with developers.
  • Solid grasp of core web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, structured data) and their SEO implications.
  • Experience leading SEO for large-scale, multi-domain digital environments is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in Greek and proficiency in English, both written and spoken
