Intellectica is recruiting a young, dynamic and highly motivated Investment Associate on behalf of Gaze Capital, a growth capital and pre-seed investment fund supporting companies in achieving their growth targets. Their mission is to provide the necessary resources, strategic guidance, and active management to help portfolio companies achieve their full potential. They back entrepreneurs using a founder first approach. Based in Athens, Greece and reporting directly to the Founder and the Venture Partner, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the business development of the company’s portfolio companies, with a particular focus on Celyphos, while also assisting in divestment processes, sourcing new investment opportunities, and managing accounting and finance tasks.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

Business Development Support (50%)

  • Work closely with Celyphos, the company’s primary portfolio company, to support its growth and development; this includes product management, marketing, sales, and process creation
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans to enhance the performance and growth of portfolio companies
  • Provide operational support to portfolio companies, helping to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Regularly monitor the performance of portfolio companies, providing insights and recommendations to improve business outcomes

Divestment Support (30%)

  • Assist in executing exits from existing portfolio companies
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential buyers and facilitate divestment processes
  • Support due diligence efforts and prepare necessary documentation for divestment activities

Investment Sourcing (10%)

  • Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities that align with Gaze Capital’s strategic goals
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends and potential investment targets
  • Perform financial and commercial analysis to assess the viability and potential return on investment of new opportunities

Accounting & Finance (10%)

  • Assist in the issuance of invoices and the preparation of year-end financial statements
  • Perform payments as required from time to time
  • Any other task that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law; Master’s in Finance, MBA, FMVA, or other qualification is a plus
  • 1-2 years of experience in legal or commercial setting, venture capital, strategy consulting or a similar role
  • Being comfortable with managing legal documentation is required
  • Exposure to financial models is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Canva; familiarity with ERP and Financial Reporting software such as HubSpot and Zoho is considered a plus
