Intellectica is recruiting a young and highly motivated Investment Operations Analyst on behalf of Gaze Capital, a growth capital and pre-seed investor supporting companies in achieving their growth targets. Gaze Capital’s mission is to provide essential resources, strategic guidance, and active management to help portfolio companies realize their full potential. Based in Athens, Greece and reporting directly to the firm’s Founder, the successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting & finance and will play a pivotal role in the overall operations of the firm and its portfolio companies, with a particular emphasis on Celyphos.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
Operational Support (40%)
- Streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and enhancing performance across Accounting & Finance, IT-Systems, Operations, HR Management, Sales & Marketing, and Legal within portfolio companies
- Maintaining relationships with external advisors, incl. accountants and legal advisors, of the firm
Legal Support (20%)
- Preparing and reviewing legal documentation in collaboration with the firm’s lawyers, accountants, and other advisors, focusing on corporate governance, tax fillings, equity & debt transactions, and more
- Assisting in executing exits from current start-up portfolio companies and facilitate investments in new companies
Accounting, Finance & Reporting (20%)
- Issuing invoices and reviewing year-end financial statements
- Performing payments and assisting in preparing financial budgets for portfolio companies
- Generating management reports as may be required from time to time
Market Research & Due Diligence (20%)
- Assisting with market research and business plan development for current and potential investments of the firm
- Performing due diligence on new potential investments
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance; a Master’s degree or relevant certifications (FMVA, ACCA, etc.) are required
- Demonstrated academic excellence is highly preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in financial controlling or a similar role; exposure to legal documentation is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Canva; familiarity with ERP systems such as Zoho is considered a strong plus
- Fluent in Greek and English
