Intellectica is recruiting a Digital Journalist – News Flow (“Ροή”) on behalf of its client, a leading media group strengthening the newsroom operations of a digital-first news platform. The organization delivers timely, credible, and engaging journalism to large digital audiences, with a strong emphasis on speed, clarity, and relevance.
This role sits at the heart of the “ροή” desk, producing and curating high-frequency content throughout the day. The role reports to the Head of the Website and works closely with the wider editorial team, social media editors, and video production to maximize distribution and impact.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Writing and publishing short, accurate, high-frequency news items for the “ροή” (news feed)
- Monitoring Greek and international news sources, wires, institutions, and verified signals for breaking stories
- Producing quick updates, rewrites, and short explainers with strong headlines and clear structure
- Ensuring factual accuracy, proper sourcing, and compliance with editorial standards
- Coordinating for prioritization, angle selection, and story packaging
- Creating SEO-aware headlines and metadata (where applicable) to support discoverability
- Collaborating with Social Media Editors for rapid distribution and platform-native adaptations
- Supporting push notification suggestions and “what’s trending” coverage when required
- Participating in shifts/rotations (including early/late or weekend coverage if needed)
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in digital journalism and/or newsroom environments (digital-first preferred)
- Excellent Greek writing skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and fast
- Strong news judgment: prioritization, verification, and sensitivity in high-stakes topics
- Familiarity with CMS publishing and basic analytics is a plus
- Ability to work in fast-paced conditions with frequent deadlines and continuous updates
- Fluency in Greek and proficiency in English (written and spoken)
