Intellectica is recruiting a Legal Counsel on behalf of its client, a leading and rapidly growing Greek pharmaceutical organization with strong European partnerships and a diverse portfolio. The company operates within a dynamic, highly regulated and fast‑paced environment, interacting with international partners, senior stakeholders and multiple business entities. Based in Athens, Greece, and reporting directly to the Head of Legal the successful candidate will take ownership of all legal and compliance matters while working closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional business units.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to management and business teams, providing day-to-day legal support on corporate, commercial, labor, regulatory and intellectual property matters, including legal research and risk assessments
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g. supply, distribution, services, licensing), ensuring alignment with internal policies, procurement processes, risk appetite and applicable regulations
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in the pharmaceutical sector and translate them into clear, actionable guidance for the business
- Support corporate governance matters, including preparation of minutes and resolutions, and maintain accurate legal records and documentation
- Design, implement and maintain compliance policies and procedures (e.g. GDPR, Whistleblowing, Anti-Bribery), oversee disclosure and transparency obligations, and ensure alignment with industry codes and regulatory requirements in collaboration with relevant functions
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to foster a culture of integrity and regulatory awareness
- Manage and coordinate disputes, claims and litigation, including supervision of external counsel
- Lead or support ESG-related initiatives, including the development and follow-up of action plans
- Partner with relevant functions (e.g. Compliance, Finance, HR, QA) to ensure end-to-end adherence to industry codes and regulatory expectations
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Law degree from a recognized university and valid license to practice law in Greece; LLM in Corporate/Commercial Law is highly desirable
- 5-7 years of post-qualification experience, with at least part of it gained in an in-house legal role (preferably in a regulated or multinational environment)
- Experience or strong exposure to pharmaceutical law and/or life sciences regulations will be considered a significant advantage
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (GDPR, anti-bribery, whistleblowing) and internal policy implementation
- Good understanding of purchasing/procurement procedures and related regulatory constraints
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
- Fluency in Greek and English (written and verbal); additional languages will be considered a strong plus
