Intellectica is recruiting an experienced Line Manager (Italy) on behalf of a leader in international transportation and logistics solutions, specializing in seamless and efficient connections across key markets. The role is based in Aspropyrgos, Greece, and reports directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all operations related to freight forwarding between Italy and Greece, ensuring operational excellence, driving profitability, and maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing end-to-end freight forwarding operations between Italy and Greece, by ensuring smooth coordination of shipments, from planning and execution to delivery
- Developing and implementing effective strategies for managing import/export operations
- Overseeing freight operations, including supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing and ensure quality service
- Analyzing operational metrics to identify trends, improve efficiency, and enhance service delivery
- Monitoring profitability by managing budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring timely invoicing and documentation closure
- Maintaining and growing relationships with key accounts by delivering tailored solutions and addressing customer needs proactively
- Continuously monitoring market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth
- Providing daily and periodic reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, challenges, and strategic recommendations
- Ensuring all operations adhere to international trade regulations, customs procedures, and internal standards
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and operational success
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing Italy groupage lines in an international transport environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity
- In-depth knowledge of transport logistics, including trucking, shipping modes, and supply chain optimization
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with ERP and CRM systems
- Fluency in English and Italian (both written and spoken)
