Intellectica is recruiting a dynamic Logistics Associate on behalf of a UK-based startup revolutionizing the recycling industry with data-driven AI. Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Lead the planning and execution of international road and sea shipments, ensuring alignment with business priorities and customer expectations
- Collaborate with the Fulfilment team to continuously improve logistics workflows and contribute to broader operational strategy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and transport providers across Africa, South America, and Europe
- Negotiate and coordinate transport arrangements to optimize cost, reliability, and delivery timelines
- Prepare and review all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin
- Ensure full compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and waste-related documentation standards
- Monitor shipments proactively to identify and resolve issues such as delays, rollovers, or customs bottlenecks
- Take initiative to implement corrective actions and escalate complex problems when necessary
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logistics data on the company’s digital platform
- Coordinate closely with internal teams including Quality, Compliance, and Finance to ensure smooth execution of shipments
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in international logistics operations
- Proven experience managing shipments across global regions, including complex and less commonly traded routes
- Solid understanding of import/export documentation and customs processes
- Background in start-up or fast-paced environments is a plus
- Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., Spanish or French) are a plus
