Intellectica is recruiting an experienced and highly organized Logistics Manager on behalf of a leading dairy and cheese products retailer and producer with over 60-years’ presence in the field. Based in Athens, Greece, and reporting to the company’s CEO the successful candidate will have previous experience in overseeing all aspects of the supply chain including procurement, warehousing, logistics and distribution, ideally in temperature-controlled environments. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of products from production to delivery, while optimizing costs and maintaining high quality standards.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize the supply chain processes, inventory management, and distribution network efficiency
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including production, sales, and finance, to forecast demand, plan production schedules, and ensure on-time delivery of products
  • Designing and optimizing logistics processes, including route planning, load scheduling, and delivery methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Preparing and managing the logistics budget, track expenses, and implementing cost-saving initiatives
  • Overseeing inventory control and ensuring accurate stock levels are maintained to minimize shortages and excess inventory
  • Managing and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure reliable and cost-effective procurement of raw materials and packaging
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity
  • Developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the supply chain department to ensure consistent and compliant operations
  • Leading and mentoring a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance and support to improve individual and team performance

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelors’ Degree (AEI/TEI) in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Proven experience of at least 7 years as a Logistics Manager, preferably in the dairy or food industry
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to the food and beverage industry
  • Experience in managing temperature controlled warehouses is highly desirable
  • Strong Knowledge of supply chain management principles including procurement, inventory management and logistics
  • Knowledge of using supply chain management software and ERP systems
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Excellent knowledge of Greek and English
