Intellectica is recruiting an experienced MEP Project Manager for Energy Projects on behalf of its client, a leading engineering & construction group with nationwide operations and a strong footprint in energy, industrial and infrastructure projects. The position is bases in Athens, Greece and will report directly to the Head of Services Department. The successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of photovoltaic and energy‑storage projects across Greece, ensuring safe, timely and high‑quality execution while supporting the future development of a dedicated energy‑projects function within the organization.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Overseeing the full lifecycle of photovoltaic (PV) and energy‑storage projects, ensuring safe, timely and high‑quality execution from planning to commissioning
Project Planning & Coordination
- Reviewing technical designs, MEP studies and project specifications, securing alignment with engineering standards and regulatory requirements
- Planning and coordinating on‑site activities across multiple locations, ensuring seamless collaboration among engineering, construction and subcontracting teams
- Monitoring project schedules, budgets and milestones; identifying deviations and implement corrective actions when required
Site Supervision & Quality Assurance
- Ensuring regular and structured presence across project sites to monitor progress, validating compliance with safety and technical standards, and addressing emerging operational issues
- Supervising contractors and external partners, resolving technical issues and ensuring proper installation, testing and commissioning of all MEP systems
- Overseeing project documentation, progress reports, site logs and handover files, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serving as the primary MEP point‑of‑contact for all energy projects, liaising with internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders
- Collaborating with vendors and procurement teams to secure timely material delivery and verifying compliance with project requirements
Process Improvement & Future Team Development
- Contributing to improving project‑delivery processes and knowledge‑sharing practices within the Services Department
- Supporting the future development of a dedicated energy‑projects team by providing mentoring, technical guidance and structured feedback when needed
- Any other work that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- MSc or MBA will be considered a strong asset; additional technical certifications will be considered a plus
- 8–12 years of experience in energy‑related projects, ideally including exposure to PV or energy‑storage systems
- Solid understanding of MEP design principles, installation standards, commissioning processes, and on‑site supervision
- Demonstrated ability to manage construction‑site activities and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and interpreting technical drawings
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with prior experience in ERP systems considered an advantage
- Familiarity with project‑management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) will be viewed positively
- Excellent documentation, reporting and organizational capabilities
- Valid driver’s license
- Fluent in English and Greek (both written and verbal)
- Flexibility and ability to work across project sites throughout Greece, as required
