Intellectica is recruiting an experienced Project Manager on behalf of its client, a leading engineering & construction group with nationwide operations and a strong footprint in energy, industrial and infrastructure projects. The position is based in Athens, Greece and will report to the Head of Services Department. The successful candidate will be managing industrial and construction projects, ensuring safe, timely and cost‑effective execution while maintaining strong coordination between field operations and the central project‑management office.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing the full lifecycle of industrial and construction projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, supervision and handover within budget, scope and timeline requirements

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Reviewing engineering designs, construction drawings and technical specifications to ensure alignment with standards, client requirements and regulatory obligations
  • Preparing project plans, schedules and resource allocations while coordinating with multidisciplinary internal teams
  • Monitoring project progress, milestones and performance indicators; identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions promptly
  • Coordinating day‑to‑day activities between subcontractors, field teams and the central office to ensure seamless project execution

Site Supervision & Quality Control

  • Conducting frequent site visits to assess progress, verify quality of work and ensure compliance with safety and technical standards
  • Ensuring that construction methods and materials meet project specifications and applicable regulations
  • Overseeing documentation, site reports, quality checklists and handover files to ensure completeness and accuracy

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Acting as a key liaison between clients, engineers, subcontractors and internal project stakeholders
  • Collaborating with the Procurement Department to secure timely delivery of materials; performing quality control checks on delivered items
  • Managing project communications and ensuring that expectations are aligned and risks are effectively escalated

Process Improvement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Contributing to the improvement of project‑delivery processes and documentation standards
  • Sharing best practices with colleagues across engineering and field teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Any other work that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • BSc in Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • MSc or MBA will be considered a strong asset; additional technical certifications will be considered a plus
  • At least 8 years of experience in construction or industrial projects, with substantial field exposure
  • Proven experience supervising works, coordinating site teams and managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, quality standards, industrial project environments and health & safety protocols
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and interpreting technical drawings
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with prior experience in ERP systems considered an advantage
  • Familiarity with project‑management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) will be viewed positively
  • Excellent documentation, reporting and organizational capabilities
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fluent in English and Greek (both written and verbal)
  • Flexibility and ability to work across project sites throughout Greece and abroad, as required
