Intellectica is recruiting an experienced Sales Engineer on behalf of a leading designer, manufacturer and engineer of high quality pumps and systems, used in a large variety of water applications. The candidate should possess a strong technical background to prepare detailed engineering quotations for potential clients and advanced communication skills to generate new leads and service existing clientele. Based in Bucharest, Romania, the candidate will report directly to the Country Head (Romanian Branch) and co-operate closely with the company’s Lead Sales Engineer, based in Athens, Greece.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and executing sales strategies to promote high-quality pumps and increase market share in Romania
  • Investigating customer needs and assisting in their fulfillment by preparing detailed engineering quotations, including datasheets, commercial offers, pump curves and quality dossier
  • Collaborating with the Head Sales Engineer in Greece and the engineering team to coordinate sales efforts, understand product specifications and technical details and accurately communicate product benefits and capabilities to clients
  • Implementing the set sales plan, continuously monitoring results vs targets and preparing relevant reports for management review
  • Monitoring and evaluating direct competition, including pricing and benefits, to ensure the competitiveness of offers and identifying opportunities for product and service improvements
  • Any other task that may be required from time-to-time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a Technological or Polytechnic University
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the pumps industry; work experience in Romania is required
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical engineering is required
  • Experience with AUTOCAD or similar applications
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office applications
  • Fluency in Greek and English; knowledge of Romanian is a strong plus
  • Holder of EU drivers’ license
