Intellectica is recruiting a motivated Software Engineer on behalf of a Group of companies, with more than 20 years’ experience in the generation and supply of electricity from Renewable Energy sources. Based in Athens, Greece and reporting directly to the Head of Data Analytics and Modeling, the candidate’s primary goal will be to develop robust software solutions with an emphasis on data engineering for various energy projects.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining microservices-based software solutions tailored for the energy sector, with a particular emphasis on data engineering
- Utilizing Python for backend development and integrate web development principles for user-friendly interfaces
- Implementing microservices architecture and design patterns for scalable and modular applications
- Writing clean, efficient, and scalable code to process and analyze large datasets
- Developing and maintaining microservices for data pipelines, collecting, processing, and analyzing energy-related data
- Implementing and optimizing data storage solutions within a microservices context
- Working closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure the availability and accuracy of data
- Collaborating with energy engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to build end-to-end microservices-based data solutions
- Participating in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 2 years of professional experience in software development with a focus on data engineering
- Proficiency in Python for backend development and web development technologies
- Expertise in microservices architecture and design patterns.
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) for scalable and reliable solutions
- Knowledge of containerization using Docker for efficient deployment and management
- Advanced full-stack development
- Experience in big data applications
- Familiarity with the energy industry will be a plus
- Fluent in Greek and English (both written and verbal)
