Intellectica is recruiting a motivated Automation Engineer on behalf of a Group of companies, with more than 20 years’ experience in the generation and supply of electricity from Renewable Energy sources. Based in Athens, Greece and reporting directly to the Product Manager, the candidate’s primary goal is to implement and maintain automation systems, while ensuring seamless integration of new devices and continuous improvement in projects.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing and implementing automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems
  • Evaluating and testing new hardware and devices for compatibility with the existing software solution
  • Executing test plans, including functional, performance, and compatibility testing, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of new devices
  • Collaborating with device manufacturers and engineering teams to define and implement integration protocols and APIs, ensuring that new devices can communicate effectively with the software solution
  • Providing ongoing support and maintenance for integrated devices, addressing any issues that may arise post-implementation
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic and automation system issues, implementing effective solutions
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, including electronic schematics and automation code, technical specifications, user manuals, and installation guides
  • Working closely with other engineers, technicians, and contractors to deliver integrated solutions
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to suggest improvements and innovation in the company’s projects

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Automation Engineering, or a related field
  • Electronics and automation certifications are a plus
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in electronics/automation engineering
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Fluent in Greek and English (both written and verbal)
