Intellectica is recruiting a dynamic Export Manager (Olive Oil) on behalf of a leading premium olive oil producer and distributor, with a strong export-led footprint across more than 20 international markets. The company is on a clear growth trajectory, aiming to further strengthen and expand its global presence across the Americas, Australia and Asia. As part of this growth strategy, we are seeking an Export Manager to join a high-performing Export team and contribute to accelerated commercial development across existing and new markets. The position, based in Athens, Greece, reports directly to the Commercial Director and requires frequent international travel, as well as active participation in global trade fairs and customer visits. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s international commercial strategy, strengthening distributor and retail partnerships, and driving sustainable export growth.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of international accounts (distributors and/or retailers), ensuring strong commercial performance, long-term partnerships and profitable growth
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in existing and new markets, including prospecting, lead generation, qualification and deal closure
- Own the end-to-end export sales cycle: quotations, pricing proposals, promotions, negotiations, contracts and customer onboarding
- Coordinate commercial execution with internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, Logistics, QA, Production, Finance) to ensure flawless order fulfilment and customer satisfaction
- Prepare and manage export documentation processes and requirements (e.g., invoices, packing lists, certificates, shipping instructions), ensuring compliance with destination-market and customer standards
- Represent the company in international exhibitions, trade missions and customer visits; develop market intelligence on competitors, pricing, trends and consumer insights
- Collaborate with Marketing/Brand teams (where relevant) to support market activations, product launches, packaging requirements and retailer readiness
- Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or an MBA is an advantage
- Proven experience in export sales within olive oil (strongly preferred) or closely related FMCG food categories with clear international exposure
- Demonstrable track record of developing and managing distributor networks and/or direct retail accounts across multiple markets
- Commercial acumen: ability to build pricing proposals, assess profitability, and manage account P&L drivers
- High proficiency in Excel and comfort with CRM/ERP systems for pipeline and forecast management
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally frequently (customer visits, audits, and trade fairs), sometimes on short notice
- Fluency in Greek and English; additional languages are a strong advantage
