Intellectica is recruiting a talented Back-end PHP Developer on behalf of a fast-growing tech startup focusing on improving governmental services by accelerating their digital transformation. Working with a hybrid scheme in the company’s offices in Athens, the candidate’s primary goal is to support the company’s growth by introducing innovative features to its platform, while gaining valuable skills in a dynamic and impact-oriented environment.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Working closely with the front-end development and management teams to understand feature requirements and contribute to the overall development strategy
- Developing of new features for the company’s platform, ensuring they align with project goals and user needs
- Implementing and enhancing backend functionalities using PHP, considering best practices and efficiency
- Applying strong object-oriented design skills to create scalable and maintainable code structures
- Ensuring code quality through thorough testing methodologies
- Staying informed about industry trends and incorporate relevant advancements into the development workflow
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of practical experience in PHP development
- Profound understanding of REST, SQL, and MVC frameworks
- Strong proficiency in git and command line usage
- Experience with the Laravel framework
- Familiarity with automated testing, including unit, functional and/or acceptance testing
- DevOps knowledge in Linux environments is a significant advantage
- Docker skills will be highly regarded
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Greek is a plus
