Intellectica is recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager on behalf of an internationally recognized Group of Companies present in the Aerospace, Defense, Security and High Technology markets. Based in Athens, Greece and reporting directly to the Business Unit Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in in enhancing the organization’s market position and contributing to its sales growth. Operating on the basis of long-term organizational strategic goals, the Business Development Manager will build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Understanding the solutions and services of the company
  • Representing the company in a positive and professional manner in front of customers, during exhibitions and events
  • Collaborating with all personnel and external contacts to satisfy partners, clients and achieve company goals
  • Identifying areas of improvement in the company and assisting in creating and implementing solutions
  • Staying up-to-date on market trends, new products and solutions, and industry matters through third-party resources and networks
  • Identifying and investigating growth opportunities for the company
  • Creating selling opportunities for the company’s services, reaching new partners and/or channel service customers
  • Forming strategic business relationships and further building on the existing ones
  • Collaborating with teammates and maintaining a positive and professional attitude fostering teamwork
  • Preparing reports for the Director of Business Unit

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • BSc or/and MSc in Engineering, preferably in Aeronautical Engineering; an MBA is considered a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar sales or marketing position; background from the aviation industry, unmanned or defense systems is a plus
  • Strong skills in sales planning, identification of customer needs and challenges
  • Strong capability to establish business networks and approach new customers
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required (approximately 1-2 trips per month)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluent in Greek and English (both written and verbal); proficiency in additional languages is a plus
