Intellectica is recruiting a MEP Engineer on behalf of a leading international hospitality investor developing luxury hotels & residences in Greece. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in hotel development and multi-story residential complexes construction and will be overseeing all Mechanical and Electrical designs, ensuring compliance with approved scopes, budgets, and green certification standards such as LEED and BREEAM. Managing day-to-day MEP operations, the candidate is presented with the opportunity of being part of the leadership team of a landmark hotel development in Greece.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Being in-charge for overseeing all Mechanical and Electrical designs
  • Ensuring the MEP designs carried out are as per approved scope, legislation and within the time frame and progress of the approved design program
  • Ensuring the MEP designs are within projected budget; propose value engineering to meet the budget
  • Aligning designs with green certificate requirements (LEED, BREEAM), following impact on the budget
  • Ensuring that the method statement of installation, inspection and testing of all the MEP equipment, fittings and work implemented meet the specifications and consultant requirements. Also lead the preparation of MEP tender documents
  • Verifying the accuracy of shop drawings and their compliance with the specification, consultant’s designs and existing local authority standards
  • Project managing the day-to-day work that needs to be carried out by subordinates including scheduling of activities, assigning task to groups or individuals, ensuring accuracy of work conducted, supplying resources, and dealing with operational issues and problems
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure that deadlines, procedures, and other project requirements are met
  • Reporting to the Head of Design

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • University Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, member of TEE
  • Minimum 10 years of experience from the design & construction industry with proven experience in building (hotels, multi-stories residential complexes, etc.) projects
  • Experience in managing relations with consultants/designers/subcontractors’ and reporting to senior management
  • Knowledge of the Greek market and Project management principals
  • Advanced user of Autocad
  • Fluent in Greek and English (written and verbal)
  • Professional knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Sharepoint)
