Intellectica is recruiting a highly adaptable and motivated Mobile IP & Security Network Engineer (Engineering) on behalf of a leader in the Greek Telecommunications and media industry. Based in Athens, Attiki, Greece and reporting to the SVP of Mobile IP Network & Security, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing the IP Network and Security infrastructure, over which the Organization’s domestic and international mobile traffic is being serviced. The Team is also responsible for the design and optimization of the IP Network and Security infrastructure supporting internal services that are related to mobile and various other domains.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Determining and designing the evolution of the network based on the optimal technoeconomic solutions
- Coordinating with Vendors and third-party partners for the proper handling of projects on systems and related services under the department’s responsibility
- Creating, documenting and implementing technical solutions for network development and optimization as well as accommodating service needs of internal customers
- Actively participating in writing technical documentation for tenders and large projects
- Providing technical assistance to Operations, related to the detection, identification, and resolution of faults
- Collaborating internally with the engineers of other engineering departments to provide optimal and efficient solutions for common projects
- Conducting studies, testing and Proof-of-Concept (PoF) for new equipment and new technologies prior to their integration into the network
- Participating in compliance audits
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related sector
- Holder of a Professional or Expert level industry recognized vendor qualification in Routing, Datacenter, Security or Service Provider domains such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) / Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) / Fortinet Certified Expert (FCE)
- Experience in a similar position preferably in a service provider/operator or vendor/partner/integrator
- Experience in Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) and Fortinet firewalls as well as FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer
- Strong protocol level understanding of IP (IPv4/IPv6), Ethernet/STP, MPLS/LDP, OSPF/ISIS and BGP
- Experience in carrier grade Cisco/Juniper platforms
- Experience in using network devices such as Cisco (ASR9k, NCS, N9k/N7k/N5k), Juniper (MX) and operating systems IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS and JUNOS.
- Experience in IP network design, implementation and optimization technologies
- Experience in creating operating rules and best practices, technical documents for planning, describing and operating networks
- Experience with network design tools as such Visio
- Excellent communication skills in Greek & English
