Intellectica is recruiting an experienced Supply Side Account Manager (Recycled Metal) on behalf of Safi, a UK-based startup revolutionizing the recycling industry with data-driven AI. Backed by the most renowned ClimateTech investors in the US and the UK, Safi is on a mission to improve waste recovery rates and product quality. Based ideally in Greece or London with the ability to work remotely and reporting to the company’s Head of Business Development, the successful candidate will be sourcing sellers of recycled metal across USA, Europe, Africa, Central and Latin America and onboarding them as long-term procurement partners of the firm.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Identifying and acquiring relevant metal sellers in any of USA, Europe, Africa, Central and Latin America
  • Account managing metal sellers so they sell material through Safi at competitive ask prices on a regular basis
  • Consistently growing share of wallet that sellers sell through Safi
  • Designing and executing longer term sales contracts with high potential sellers
  • Converting metal sellers to self-serve on Safi and use all of the Safi platform features
  • Feedback and prioritising customer feature requests to product teams
  • Any other task that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • Has direct relationships to at least 20+ major recycled metal sellers in any of the US, UK, Europe, Africa or Central and Latin America
  • Has been buying from recycled metal sellers directly on a regular basis (weekly) for at least the last 3 years
  • Has track record of buying from these buyers regardless of market conditions
  • Proven track record of overachieving targets over last 3 years
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Greek is considered a strong plus

  • Excited about digitising and disrupting the recycled materials industry with technology
  • Strong relationship management skills with vendors or suppliers
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Multi-tasker with the ability to effectively prioritize, organize and execute tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced startup environment
